kn- Yes, we both still have our shirts commemorating that great harvest year. /sarcasm off/ Sarcasm about that year, not the shirts. I am sure part of the fun is actually knowing us!

Liesel- yep, I thought it might be the same for you. :-) Yes, it's a Stihl. It was commented that it was a bit large for the project but it made things go easy. It's one The Col. has had for quite a long time, before me in fact. He corrected me in that it ran quite well for sitting unused for so long but then it's fuel filter clogged towards the end. I just wanted to use the word "cantankerous". It would have been a good title- "Cantankerous Chainsaw" but I have sworn off "C" titles.

Those sounds and smells from childhood sure stick with a person. Praise God ours are good memories!

Oh my gosh! Same for me with waking up to a chainsaw (but then again our Dad's are brothers and are similar in many ways). It was always comforting wasn't it? Strange. And I always loved Dad's cologne... the essence of wood chips and pitch :~). Such great memories! Oh, and by the way, nice chainsaw, it looks like a Stihl (I'm assuming since mine looks just like that but with a shorter blade), a good choice, hence a good man.

I know what you mean. My dad is a carpenter and I get the same feeling whenever I hear a table saw. :)
